Today, we are gathering solemnly to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti Fascist War, to jointly remember history, remember the martyrs, cherish peace and create the future.
On behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the National People’s Congress, the State Council, the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and the Central Military Commission, I would like to pay high tribute to the veterans, old comrades, patriots and anti Japanese generals who participated in the war of resistance against Japan, and to the Chinese people at home and abroad who have made great contributions to the victory of the Chinese people’s war of resistance against Japan! I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to foreign governments and international friends who have supported and helped the Chinese people to resist aggression! To extend a warm welcome to the guests from various countries attending today’s conference!

The Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japan is a great and arduous war. Under the banner of the Anti Japanese National United Front advocated by the CPC, the Chinese people fought strong enemies with iron and steel, built the Great Wall with flesh and blood, and won the first complete victory against foreign invasion in modern times.
The Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression is an important part of the world anti fascist war. The Chinese people have made great contributions to saving human civilization and safeguarding world peace with great national sacrifice.
History warns us that the fate of humanity is intertwined. Only by treating each other equally, living in harmony, and helping each other can countries and ethnic groups maintain common security, eliminate the root causes of war, and prevent the tragedy of history from happening again!

The Chinese nation is a great nation that fears no violence and strives for self-reliance and self-improvement. In those days, in the face of the life and death struggle between justice and evil, light and darkness, progress and reaction, the Chinese people united in hatred and revolt, fighting for national survival, national rejuvenation and human justice. Today, humanity is once again faced with a choice between peace or war, dialogue or confrontation, win-win or zero sum. The Chinese people firmly stand on the right side of history and the progress of human civilization, adhere to the path of peaceful development, and work with people of all countries to build a community of shared future for mankind.
The Chinese People’s Liberation Army has always been a heroic force that the Party and the people can fully trust. All military personnel must faithfully fulfill their sacred duties, accelerate the construction of a world-class military, resolutely safeguard national sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, provide strategic support for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and make greater contributions to world peace and development!
History carries the past and inspires the future. For a new era and a new journey, the people of all ethnic groups in China should, under the strong leadership of the CPC, adhere to Marxism Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, the important thought of Three Represents, and the Scientific Outlook on Development, fully implement the thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, firmly adhere to the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, inherit and carry forward the great spirit of resistance, work hard and forge ahead bravely, and work together to comprehensively promote the building of a strong country and the great cause of national rejuvenation with Chinese path to modernization!
